  • 1-2 inches fresh ginger root, grated
  • 1-2 inches fresh turmeric root, grated (or 1 tbsp powdered turmeric)
  • 1 small lemon, sliced
  • 1 small orange, sliced
  • 1-2 sprigs fresh thyme
  • 2 tbsp dried rosehips (optional, for extra Vitamin C)
  • 1-2 tbsp raw honey (to taste, after steeping)

Elderberry Syrup RecipeIngredients:

  • ½ tsp whole cloves

But did you know that prayer can be a powerful tool to uplift and calm your heart, deepen family connections, and invite peace into your birth journey? This article will explore the beauty of praying together as a family as you prepare for a safe and blessed birth.

Prayer invites God’s presence, guidance, and peace into the birth experience. In moments of prayer, we lift up our hopes, express our concerns, and receive strength. Family prayer also brings everyone together and gives each member a role in welcoming the new baby. Even siblings can feel involved and connected to the process, praying for mom, baby, and the entire birth experience.

How to Start Praying as a Family
Here are some ways to create an intentional time of prayer that fits into your family’s unique rhythm and style. Remember, there’s no "right" way to pray together—let it be as natural and comfortable as possible for everyone.

Decide on a daily or weekly time that works for everyone—maybe in the evening or after a meal. Choose a time when everyone can gather without distraction


Incorporate Scriptures and Affirmations

As you prepare to welcome new life, praying through each week can offer comfort, guidance, and strength from the Lord. Weeks 1-4: The Beginning of a MiracleVerse for Reflection: “For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb.” – Psalm 139:13
In the earliest weeks, as your baby begins to form, you may feel a range of emotions. Use this time to reflect on God’s perfect plan and invite Him into your journey. Thank Him for the new life growing within you, and ask for His guidance as you embrace this miraculous beginning.
