Protocols Google Drive

Welcome, fellow birth workers.
Over the years, I have developed a growing collection of California-specific protocols, informed consent documents, referral guidelines, transfer criteria, educational handouts, and practice resources designed specifically for licensed midwives providing out-of-hospital maternity care.

As a Licensed Midwife serving families in California, I understand how much time and effort goes into developing compliant practice documents that meet both professional standards and the unique needs of community birth.
Because I believe collaboration strengthens our profession, I have chosen to make many of these resources available free of charge to fellow midwives and student midwives.

Included Resources
This growing library may include: (currently 94 protocol)
• Maternal consultation and transfer protocols
• Fetal consultation and referral protocols
• Neonatal consultation and referral protocols
• Informed consent documents
• Informed refusal documents
• Client education handouts
• California practice guideline templates
• Home birth risk assessment tools
• VBAC protocols
• Gestational diabetes protocols
• Postdates protocols
• Hemorrhage management protocols
• Emergency preparedness resources
• Documentation templates
• Practice management tools
and additional resources as they are developed.

Important Disclaimer
These documents are educational resources only and should not be considered legal advice, medical advice, regulatory guidance, or a substitute for independent clinical judgment.

Midwives are responsible for ensuring all protocols comply with your current state law, regulations, local standards of care, collaborating provider recommendations, and their individual scope of practice.

Users should review, modify, and adapt all documents to meet the needs of their specific practice.

Why These Resources Are Free
I believe that strong, well-prepared midwives improve outcomes for mothers, babies, and communities.

By sharing these resources, my hope is to support:
• Midwifery students
• New licensed midwives
• Established practices seeking additional tools
• Improved consistency in documentation and clinical decision-making
• Growth of safe, evidence-informed out-of-hospital birth services

Optional Donation
If these resources save you time, support your practice, or help you serve families more effectively, donations are greatly appreciated.
Your support helps offset the many hours spent researching, writing, updating, and maintaining these documents and allows me to continue creating new resources for the midwifery community.

Suggested donations:
☼ $10 — Coffee & Encouragement
☼ $25 — Support a New Protocol
☼ $50 — Support Continued Resource Development
☼ Any Amount Appreciated
Donations are entirely optional. These resources will remain freely available regardless of your ability to contribute.
